QuickCast MCP server

by Miladmet

Turn screen recordings into GitHub bug reports, Playwright tests, and step-by-step guides.

QuickCast is a small helper that connects your AI to your screen recordings. You record yourself using an app, then ask your AI to turn that recording into a bug report, a test script, or a written guide. It is handy if you test software, report bugs, or write instructions for your team.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to your QuickCast screen recordings, so it can look up your latest session and turn it into something useful. You just ask in plain words, and the helper does the work behind the scenes.

What this MCP server does

You record your screen with the QuickCast recorder. Then you ask your AI something like 'turn my last recording into a bug report'. The AI uses this helper to fetch the details of that recording, including its length, its watch link, and the moments where you clicked or typed. The helper then builds the thing you asked for, like a bug report with clickable timestamps, a test script, or a written guide. You get it back in the chat, ready to copy.

What you can do with it

  • Get the details of your most recent screen recording
  • List your last ten recordings with their lengths and links
  • Create a GitHub or Jira bug report with clickable video timestamps
  • Generate a Playwright test script that repeats the steps you recorded
  • Write a step-by-step guide (SOP) from a recording
  • Save a new recording's details into your local session list

Try asking your AI

  • “Turn my latest recording into a GitHub bug report”
  • “List my recent screen recordings”
  • “Make a Playwright test from my last session in TypeScript”
  • “Write a step-by-step guide from my latest recording called Refund a customer order”

What it gives back to you

You get text back in the chat. That can be a list of recordings with their lengths and links, a bug report in Markdown with timestamps you can click, a test script you can save as a file, or a written guide. For example, a bug report includes a table with your browser, screen size, and the exact moment the problem happened.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js installed on your computer (the free program that runs npx)
  • The Claude desktop app or Cursor
  • At least one screen recording made with the QuickCast recorder

Good to know

It reads your local recording details and can save new entries to a file on your computer, so keep an eye on what you ask it to store.

Install it with your AI

Add QuickCast MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check QuickCast MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,361 MCP servers here for you.
