iOS Safari Debug MCP server
by nnemirovsky
Lets your AI look at and control Safari on a real iPhone or iPad connected to your computer.

This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to Safari on a real iPhone or iPad. It lets the AI see the open tabs, look at the page, run small bits of code, and check things like cookies and network requests. It is handy for people who test or fix websites on iPhones, even if they are not programmers.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill. This one gives your AI a connection to Safari on a real iPhone or iPad that is plugged into your computer. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI to look at the page or change something, and it will do it through this helper.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something about the iPhone's Safari, like which tabs are open or what a button does. The AI sends that request to this helper program. The helper talks to a small tool called ios-webkit-debug-proxy, which talks to the iPhone over the USB cable. The iPhone's Safari answers, and the helper sends the answer back to your AI, which explains it to you in the chat.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- See which Safari tabs are open on the iPhone
- Take a screenshot of the page and show it to you
- Run small pieces of JavaScript and tell you the result
- Look at all cookies, including ones normally hidden
- Watch network requests while you use the page
- Change colors or text on the page to test how it looks
- Find elements on the page by their class or id
Try asking your AI
- “Connect to my iPhone's Safari and show me what tabs are open”
- “Take a screenshot of the current page”
- “Show me all cookies including the hidden ones”
- “Find all elements with class error and show their text”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in plain chat: a list of tabs, a screenshot image, the text of elements, or the result of a small script. For cookies or network requests, you get a list with names and values. If the AI changes something on the page, it tells you what it changed.
Before you start
What you need
- A Mac computer (this works best on macOS)
- An iPhone or iPad connected by USB cable
- Web Inspector turned on in the iPhone's Safari settings
- The ios-webkit-debug-proxy tool installed (a free helper program)
Good to know
This can change or delete things on the page and in the browser's storage, so be careful when asking it to modify cookies or run scripts.
