mcp-hub MCP server
by ni-c
Put many MCP servers behind one address so web-based AI apps can reach them all.

mcp-hub is a helper that lets you run lots of small AI connector programs at once and reach them all through a single web address. It is handy if you use ChatGPT connectors, Claude on the web, or similar tools that cannot start programs on your own computer. Instead of setting up one connector for each service, you set up one and get to everything behind it.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, like the ability to look things up in an app you use. mcp-hub is a special kind of helper: it sits in front of many other helpers and passes your AI's requests through to the right one. So your AI talks to mcp-hub, and mcp-hub talks to the app or service you actually care about.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something, like to check your calendar or search your bookmarks. Your AI sends that request to mcp-hub over the web. mcp-hub looks at which service you meant, wakes up the right helper program, and passes the request along. The helper does the work and sends the answer back through mcp-hub to your AI. You see the result in your chat, as if your AI had done it directly.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Reach many different services through one connector instead of many
- Ask your AI to list which services are available behind the hub
- Look up what each service can do before you use it
- Limit which actions a service is allowed to perform
- Keep rarely used services asleep until you need them
- Log in once with a password and let your AI apps connect securely
- Run the whole thing on a small computer like a Raspberry Pi
Try asking your AI
- “List all the servers connected to the hub”
- “What tools does the paperless server offer?”
- “Search my bookmarks for anything about gardening”
- “Check my calendar for tomorrow”
What it gives back to you
You get back whatever the service behind the hub returns: lists of items, search results, answers to questions, or confirmation that something changed. In the chat it looks like a normal reply from your AI, sometimes with a short list or a summary. If a service is asleep, the hub wakes it first, so you may notice a small pause.
Before you start
What you need
- A computer or server where you can run a small program (Docker is the easiest way)
- A web address with HTTPS so your AI apps can reach it
- The helper programs you want to use behind the hub, installed at a version you trust
- Login details or keys for each service you connect
Good to know
Any helper programs you connect run with the same access as the hub itself, so only add ones you fully trust, and remember that actions like deleting or sending can really happen.
Install it with your AI
Add mcp-hub MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check mcp-hub MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
People who already use several AI connector programs and want them reachable from web-based AI apps without setting up a separate connector for each one.
