Parallel Task MCP server
by parallel-web
Let your AI run deep research and fill in details for a list of companies, then bring back sourced answers.

This is a helper that lets your AI assistant do deeper research for you, and also fill in missing details for a small list of things like companies or products. It is made by Parallel, a company that runs this kind of research on its own computers. It is handy if you often need a short brief with sources, or a table of facts you would otherwise gather by hand.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Parallel, a research service that runs jobs on its servers. When you ask for research or a filled-in list, your AI hands the job to Parallel and later brings the answer back into your chat.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like "research this company and cite sources" or "fill in the headquarters and founding year for these three companies." Your AI uses this helper to send that job to Parallel. Parallel works on it in the background, which can take a little while. You can keep doing other things, and when you want, your AI checks whether the job is done. Once it finishes, your AI pulls the result back and shows it to you as a written answer or a small table.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Start a deep research job on a question that needs a sourced, detailed answer
- Fill in details for a list of companies or items using one shared set of columns
- Check whether a research or enrichment job is still running
- Retrieve the finished result as readable text you can copy
- Ask for sources to be included and for anything unverifiable to be flagged
- Leave fields blank when the service cannot confirm them
Try asking your AI
- “Research Parallel Web Systems at https://parallel.ai and write a company brief covering products, target customers, and publicly announced funding. Cite your sources and flag anything you cannot verify.”
- “Enrich these three companies: Parallel Web Systems (https://parallel.ai), Google (https://google.com), and Apple (https://apple.com). Return one row per company with official name, website, headquarters, founding year, and a one-sentence product description. Include source URLs and leave unverified ”
- “Check the status of my earlier research job.”
- “Pull the finished result of that job and summarize it for me.”
What it gives back to you
You get back a written answer or a small table, depending on what you asked for. Research jobs come back as a sourced brief in readable text. Enrichment jobs come back as one row per item, with the columns you asked for. Your AI shows this in the chat, and you can copy it or ask follow-up questions about it.
Before you start
What you need
- A Parallel account (sign in through your browser when prompted)
- A Parallel API key if your app does not support browser sign-in (a kind of password for apps; you get one from platform.parallel.ai)
- Credit on your Parallel account, since research and enrichment jobs are paid
- An AI app that supports MCP servers, such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or VS Code
Good to know
Research and enrichment jobs cost money on your Parallel account, and anything you send is passed to Parallel to run the job, so avoid sending private or sensitive details.
