PostWire is a service that posts to many social networks for you. This MCP server connects PostWire to your AI assistant, so you can describe what you want to share and the AI writes and publishes it. It is handy if you manage social accounts and want to skip opening each app one by one.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to PostWire, which is already linked to your social accounts. So when you ask your AI to post something, it can actually do it through PostWire instead of just writing text for you to copy.

What this MCP server does

You tell your AI what you want to share, in your own words. The AI uses this helper to ask PostWire to write a version for each network you picked, shaped to fit that network's style and limits. You look the drafts over, and when you say go, the AI tells PostWire to publish them. PostWire sends each post to the right account and reports back what went out.

What you can do with it

  • Write one idea as separate drafts for each social network
  • Publish a post to several networks at once
  • Check whether a post has finished publishing
  • See which social accounts are connected
  • See your plan and how many posts you have used this month
  • Look up which networks are supported and what each one needs

Try asking your AI

  • “Post the demo video, we shipped scheduling today”
  • “Write a version of this announcement for LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon, then publish it”
  • “Did my TikTok post go live yet?”
  • “Which accounts do I have connected right now?”

What it gives back to you

You get drafts back as text in the chat, one per network, so you can read and change them before anything goes out. When you publish, you get a short report saying which networks the post went to. If something cannot be posted, you get a clear error before anything is sent. You can also ask for your plan, your monthly post count, and your connected accounts.

Before you start

What you need

  • A PostWire account (the free plan works, no card needed)
  • An API key from your PostWire dashboard (a kind of password for apps; the site gives you one)
  • At least one social account connected to PostWire

Good to know

This server can publish real posts to your social accounts, so check the drafts before you tell it to go, and keep your API key private.
