WebCrawl MCP Server
by pragmar
Let your AI search inside websites you have already saved offline.

This little helper connects your AI assistant to copies of websites you keep on your computer. Those copies come from crawling tools like HTTrack, wget, ArchiveBox, Katana, SiteOne or InterroBot. Once plugged in, you can simply ask questions about those saved pages instead of clicking around folder after folder.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat based on what it knows and whatever you paste into the box. An MCP server is a small background program that gives your AI one extra ability. Here, that ability is talking to your collection of crawled website files. So when you ask something like "find my pricing pages," your AI sends the question to this helper, and the helper digs through your stored pages and brings back matching results.
What this MCP server does
When you connect this server, your AI gains access to the webpages and assets collected by popular crawling programs. You tell your AI what you're hunting for, say broken links or product descriptions mentioning a word. Your AI turns that into a structured search across titles, addresses, sizes, reply codes, headings and page bodies. Then it hands back a tidy summary or a list rather than making you scroll endlessly. Everything stays on your machine because the whole thing runs locally next to your notes and browser history.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Find every page whose address contains a certain path, domain or filename fragment.
- List all pictures, videos or documents captured during a crawl.
- Spot dead ends by asking for replies above error-level codes such as four hundred series.
- Pull together phrases appearing anywhere on multiple saved pages.
- Extract particular bits from many pages at once, for instance all main headlines.
- Turn long article snapshots into shorter readable versions right in the conversation.
Try asking your AI
- “Show me all pages where the title mentions refund policy.”
- “Which internal links returned errors last week? Group similar problems together please.”
- “Give me five examples of how we describe our starter plan online.”
- “Count how many blog posts were archived yesterday afternoon.”
What it gives back to you
Your AI typically shows a numbered list combining page names plus brief excerpts surrounding matched terms. Sometimes it adds counts grouped by category if you asked for totals. Occasionally it may offer longer cleaned-up passages upon further prompting. Nothing leaves your device except the final answer printed in the chat pane itself.
