MCP Doctor

This is a little health-checker for the settings files that tell Claude Desktop, Cursor and similar apps how to connect to outside helpers called MCP servers. If something stops working after you edit those files, this finds out why and often fixes it automatically. It's meant for anyone whose AI tools suddenly stop responding and who doesn't want to dig through confusing error messages alone.

What this MCP server does

When you mention that a connector isn't behaving, your AI hands the question to this helper. The helper scans your machine for known setting files used by Claude Desktop, Cursor and Cline, then opens each one and compares what they say against reality, checking whether the programs named really sit where expected. For any file that won't load because of stray punctuation or leftover notes typed into it, the helper rewrites a clean version so the original application starts accepting it again. You end up seeing either 'all good' plus a short report, or a clear note saying what was wrong and confirmation that it got repaired.

Usually a compact summary listing paths inspected along with pass-or-warn lines per item found. When repairs occur, expect notice naming affected path together with statement that corrected duplicate saved nearby.
