Searchcraft MCP server
by searchcraft-inc · official
Let your AI set up and manage your Searchcraft search indexes, keys and data by just asking in plain English.

This is a helper made by Searchcraft, a service that runs search for websites and apps. Once you connect it to your AI assistant, you can ask in normal words to create search indexes, load data into them, make access keys and check how search is doing. It is handy if you work with data or apps but do not want to click through a control panel for every little task.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Searchcraft, so the AI can look things up and do things there for you when you ask. You stay in the chat, and the helper does the clicking behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You tell your AI what you want, like setting up a search index from a data file. The AI uses this helper, and the helper talks to your Searchcraft account. It can read your data, build a search setup from it, load the records in, and make keys so an app can search. When it is done, it tells you what it created and whether it worked.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Create a search index from a JSON data file or a web link
- Add, look up or delete documents inside an index
- Make and manage access keys for your apps
- List all your indexes and see how many documents each one holds
- Check the schema and settings of an index
- Add custom stopwords and synonyms to improve search
- Generate a ready-to-run search web app from your data
Try asking your AI
- “Create a search index called products from this JSON link and load all the items in”
- “Show me all my indexes and how many documents each one has”
- “Make a read key for my app called my-ecommerce-app”
- “Build me a small search web app using my products data”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat, like a list of your indexes with document counts, or a summary of the index that was just created. It can also confirm changes it made, such as a new key or documents that were added or removed. For some tasks it hands back details like a schema, stats or a generated app folder.
Before you start
What you need
- A Searchcraft account and cluster
- Your Searchcraft endpoint and admin key
- The Claude desktop app or another AI tool that supports MCP servers
Good to know
Some tools delete things for good, like an index, all documents or all keys, so always double check before you say yes.
Install it with your AI
