Maestro Career Studio is a free tool that keeps one record of everything you have actually done in your career, and builds each resume from that record. This MCP server is the connector that lets your AI assistant work with that record for you. It is handy if you are job hunting and tired of rewriting your resume for every posting.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app, and here it connects your AI to Maestro Career Studio on your own computer. Once connected, your AI can look up your career history, your resumes and your saved jobs, and do things there when you ask. You stay in charge: the helper runs on your machine, against your data.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something in plain words, like whether a job posting is worth applying to. The AI uses this helper to reach Maestro on your computer, which holds your career history, your resumes and your saved jobs. Maestro saves the job, scores your resumes against it, and flags things like visa requirements or years of experience. Your AI then tells you the result in the chat, and you decide what to do next.

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat: a match score, a list of gaps, a summary of what changed, or a finished resume PDF saved to your computer. Suggested edits come back as a before and after, so you can accept or undo each one. When it fills a form, it shows you what it filled and stops before Submit.

Before you start

What you need

Maestro Career Studio installed on your computer (the free uv install is two commands)
An AI key from OpenAI, Gemini or Claude for tailoring and PDFs (scoring, PDFs and tracking work without one)
Your AI assistant connected to Maestro, for example with the maestro connect command

Good to know

There is no login, so anything that can reach the app can read and change your whole career record and your saved API keys, and full automation can submit applications without asking, so keep it on your own machine and watch it run.
