SiftingIO market data MCP server
by SiftingIO · official
Lets your AI look up live prices, company filings, and market calendars for stocks, crypto, forex and more.

This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to SiftingIO, a market data service. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI about prices, company reports, or what markets are open, and it will go fetch the answer for you. It is handy for anyone who works with investments, research, or finance and does not want to click around a dozen websites.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to SiftingIO, a market data provider, so it can look up live prices, company filings, and market hours for you. You ask a question in plain words, and the AI uses this helper behind the scenes to get the real data.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like what Apple's stock is doing right now, or when the next big economic announcement is. The AI passes that request to this helper program running on your computer. The helper talks to SiftingIO's data service over the internet and pulls back the numbers or documents you asked about. Then the AI reads that data and explains it to you in the chat, in normal language. For live streams, like watching crypto prices tick by, it can also keep a connection open and hand you a few seconds of recent activity.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Look up the latest price or quote for a stock, crypto coin, or currency pair
- Search for a company and read its profile and key financial ratios
- Pull recent SEC filings and specific sections from them
- Check insider trades, ownership, earnings, and executive pay
- See which markets are open right now and what hours they keep
- Scan the macro economic calendar for upcoming events
- Grab a few seconds of live crypto, forex, or stock price updates
Try asking your AI
- “What is the latest price of Apple stock?”
- “Show me Tesla's most recent SEC filing and summarize the risk factors.”
- “Which markets are open right now?”
- “Give me a few seconds of live BTCUSD trades.”
What it gives back to you
You get back plain answers in the chat: prices, short summaries, lists of filings or events, and tables of numbers like ratios or insider trades. For bigger requests, it may trim very long results and tell you it did, so you can ask for something narrower. For live streams, it hands you a small batch of recent price updates. Everything shows up as text you can read, not as files you have to open.
