This is a helper for the website-auditor.io service. It lets your AI assistant check whether tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity mention your business, compare you with competitors, and run a full check-up on your site. It is made for marketers, small business owners and anyone who wants to know how their business shows up in AI answers.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app. This one connects your AI to website-auditor.io, so when you ask about your business or your website, the AI can go and look up real scores and reports there and bring the answers back to you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like whether ChatGPT recommends your business. The AI passes your question to this helper, which talks to the Website Auditor service. The service checks how the main AI assistants answer questions about your business and how your site performs. Then the helper sends the results back, and your AI explains them to you in plain words.

What it gives back to you

You get back a score from 0 to 100 and a breakdown for each AI assistant, plus the top competitor that shows up where you do not. A full audit gives you category scores for AI visibility, crawlability and markup, security and performance, along with the top issues and a shareable report link. Comparisons give a head to head ranking against the competitors you named. In the chat, your AI explains all of this in sentences and lists.

Before you start

What you need

Node.js installed on your computer (so the npx command can run)
For real audits of your own domains: a Website Auditor subscription at $10/month and an API key from their admin portal
The API key set as WA_API_KEY in your MCP client's config, followed by a restart of the app
Nothing extra for the free sample report, which works with no key at all

Good to know

Real audits need a paid subscription and use up your daily audit quota, so run them on purpose rather than in a loop; your API key is like a password, so keep it in your MCP client's settings and never share or commit it.
