Agent Nexus MCP server
Your AI can look up which APIs, MCP servers and CLIs actually work right now, and how to call them.
Agent Nexus is a public directory of tools that AI agents can use, such as APIs, MCP servers and command line tools. Every entry is tested on a schedule, so you see a real reliability score instead of an old badge. It is handy if you build or run agents and keep hitting tools that are broken or out of date.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to Agent Nexus, a registry of tools other agents can call. So when you ask your AI to find a way to do something, it can look it up in Agent Nexus and tell you what is available and how to use it.
What this MCP server does
You describe what you need in plain words, for example send a transactional email. Your AI sends that need to the Agent Nexus MCP server. Agent Nexus searches its registry of APIs, MCP servers and CLIs and ranks the matches. Each match comes back with details like how to log in, what formats it uses, its limits and how reliable it has been recently. Your AI then shows you the options in the chat.
What you can do with it
- Find tools that can do a specific job, described in plain words
- Search the registry by keyword across APIs, MCP servers and CLIs
- Get the full contract for one entry, including auth and limits
- Browse the categories to see what kinds of tools exist
- Check reliability scores and recent health for a tool before you rely on it
- Get a free key in one call so your agent can make more requests per day
Try asking your AI
- “Find me a service that can send transactional email, and show me how to call it”
- “Search the registry for tools that convert PDFs to text”
- “What is the full contract for the top result, including auth and rate limits”
- “List the categories in Agent Nexus so I can see what is available”
What it gives back to you
You get back a ranked list of matching tools with short descriptions. For each one you see how to authenticate, what formats it accepts and returns, any limits, and a reliability score based on recent health checks. If you ask for one entry in detail, you get its full contract. The results appear as text in your chat, ready to copy or act on.
Before you start
What you need
- The Claude desktop app or another app that supports MCP servers
- Nothing else for basic use, the public endpoint works without a login
- Optional: a free Agent Nexus key if you want more than 100 calls a day (the site gives you one in a single request)
Good to know
The registry is a directory, so always check an entry's reliability score and recent incidents before you rely on a tool in something important.
