CloudBase MCP server

by TencentCloudBase

Lets your AI set up and run a CloudBase backend: databases, cloud functions, storage and deploys.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Deploy my todo app to CloudBase”, the CloudBase MCP server connects it to CloudBase, and you get back your app is live.

CloudBase is Tencent Cloud's ready-made backend: a database, file storage, login, and small pieces of code that run on the internet. This toolkit connects that backend to your AI coding tool, so the AI can do the backend work from the chat instead of you clicking around a website. It is handy if you build web apps or WeChat Mini Programs and want the boring server side handled for you.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat and write text. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to CloudBase, so it can log in, look at your data, change things, and put your app online when you ask. You install it once, and after that the AI just uses it quietly in the background.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like "log me in to CloudBase" or "deploy this app". The AI passes that request to this helper program, which talks to your CloudBase environment over the internet. CloudBase then does the real work: creating a database, saving files, running a function, or publishing your site. The result comes back to the AI, which explains in the chat what happened and what you can do next.

What you can do with it

  • Log in to your CloudBase environment from the chat
  • Create and query databases, and set who is allowed to read or write
  • Write, deploy, run and debug cloud functions
  • Store and manage files in cloud storage
  • Set up login methods for your app users
  • Publish a website or a WeChat Mini Program
  • Read logs and redeploy when something breaks

Try asking your AI

  • “Log in to CloudBase”
  • “Build a todo app with login, a database and permissions, then deploy it”
  • “Show me the last errors in my cloud function logs”
  • “Create a collection for customer orders and let only logged-in users read their own”

What it gives back to you

You get answers and actions, not files to download. The AI tells you what it created or changed, shows query results as lists or tables in the chat, and reports whether a deploy succeeded. If something failed, it usually shows the error message and suggests a fix.

Before you start

What you need

  • A CloudBase account and your own CloudBase environment (the space where your app lives)
  • An AI coding tool that supports MCP, such as Cursor, Claude Code or CodeBuddy
  • Node.js installed on your computer so the npx command can run

Good to know

The AI can change real data and put things live in your CloudBase environment, so read what it proposes before you say yes.

Install it with your AI

Add CloudBase MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check CloudBase MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
