replicant-mcp (Android helper for AI)
Let your AI build, install, and test Android apps, and tap through screens for you.

replicant-mcp is a helper that connects your AI assistant to your Android setup. Once it is connected, you can ask your AI to build your app, start an emulator, install the app, and even tap through screens to check that things work. It is handy for Android developers who want to spend less time typing commands and more time thinking about the app.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another tool. This one connects your AI to your Android development environment, so it can run builds, talk to devices, and read logs when you ask. You stay in the chat; the helper does the boring command typing behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like build the app and run it. The AI passes that request to replicant-mcp. The helper then runs the right Android commands on your computer, like building the APK, starting an emulator, installing the app, and launching it. It can also read the app's logs and look at the screen's elements to tap buttons or type text. You get a short summary back in the chat, with details only if you ask for them.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Build debug or release APKs and app bundles
- Start, stop, wipe, and snapshot Android emulators
- Install, launch, stop, and clear data for apps
- Read and filter device logs by app, tag, level, or time
- Tap buttons and type text by finding elements on screen
- Take screenshots of the current screen
- List connected devices and pick which one to use
Try asking your AI
- “Build the debug APK and install it on the emulator.”
- “Start a Pixel emulator and launch my app.”
- “Show me the last 50 error logs from my app's package.”
- “Tap the Login button, type test@example.com into the email field, and take a screenshot.”
What it gives back to you
You get short, readable answers in the chat, like a build result, a list of connected devices, or a filtered set of log lines. For UI work, it can tell you what it tapped and show a screenshot. For tests, it can give you a pass or fail summary and point out what changed compared to a previous run. If you want more detail, you can ask for it and it will dig deeper.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js 18 or newer
- The Android SDK with adb and emulator on your PATH
- An Android project that uses gradlew (for the build tools)
- An AI app that supports MCP, like Claude Desktop or Cursor
Good to know
It can install and uninstall apps, clear app data, and run commands on your connected devices, so be careful when you ask it to do destructive things.
Install it with your AI
Add replicant-mcp (Android helper for AI) to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check replicant-mcp (Android helper for AI), install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Android developers and mobile QA engineers who want to build, test, and debug apps without leaving their AI chat.
