Trends MCP server

by trendsmcp-ai

Ask your AI what's trending on Google, TikTok, YouTube, Amazon, Reddit and more, with real numbers.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “What's trending on TikTok and Google right now?”, the Trends MCP server reaches Google, TikTok, YouTube, Amazon, Reddit and Steam, and you get back trends and growth numbers.

Trends MCP is a helper that connects your AI assistant to live trend data from Google, TikTok, YouTube, Amazon, Reddit and about 30 other places. Instead of guessing, your AI can pull real search volumes, growth percentages and current top charts when you ask. It is handy for anyone who needs to know what people are searching for, watching or buying right now.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Trends MCP, a service that collects trend data from many platforms. Once it is connected, your AI can look up trends for you and bring the numbers back into the chat.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a question about trends, like what is popular on TikTok or how fast a keyword is growing. Your AI sends that request to the Trends MCP helper. The helper talks to the Trends MCP service, which pulls data from Google, TikTok, YouTube, Amazon, Reddit, npm, Steam and other sources. The service sends the numbers back, and your AI shows them to you in a normal reply. You never have to visit each platform yourself.

What you can do with it

  • Check what is trending on Google, TikTok, YouTube or Reddit right now
  • Compare growth for a keyword across Google, TikTok and Amazon in one question
  • See the history of a search term over weeks or months
  • Look up Amazon best sellers in a category like Toys Games
  • Check npm weekly downloads for a package like react
  • See Steam concurrent players for a game like Elden Ring
  • Look at App Store or Google Play top charts

Try asking your AI

  • “Using TrendsMCP, what's trending on Google right now?”
  • “Using TrendsMCP, compare 6-month growth for creatine gummies on Google, TikTok, and Amazon.”
  • “Via TrendsMCP, pull npm download history for langchain.”
  • “Using TrendsMCP, show Steam concurrent players for Elden Ring.”

What it gives back to you

You get back a short written answer with the numbers your AI found. That can be a ranked list of trending items, a percentage growth figure, or a simple history of a keyword over time. Some sources also include an absolute volume number. The AI usually formats it as a small table or a few bullet points in the chat.

Before you start

What you need

  • A free Trends MCP API key from trendsmcp.ai/account (100 requests per month on the free plan)
  • An AI client that supports MCP, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code
  • For Claude.ai and ChatGPT, you sign in with OAuth instead of pasting a key

Good to know

Each call uses up your monthly request quota, and the free plan only includes 100 requests, so keep an eye on how often you ask.

Install it with your AI
