SnapRender MCP server
by User0856
Let your AI take website screenshots and pull page content, without you leaving the chat.

SnapRender is a screenshot service for websites. This MCP server connects it to your AI assistant, so you can ask for a picture of a web page and get it back in the chat. It is handy for anyone who needs to check how a page looks, save a copy of it, or grab the text from it.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to SnapRender, a screenshot service. Once it is connected, your AI can ask SnapRender to capture a web page or read its content, and then show you the result.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like "take a screenshot of this page." Your AI passes the request to this helper, which talks to the SnapRender service. SnapRender opens the page in a browser, captures it, and sends the image back. Your AI then shows you the screenshot or tells you what it found. You can also ask for the page text, a batch of pages at once, or your usage numbers.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Capture any web page as PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF
- Take a screenshot as if you were on an iPhone, Pixel, iPad, or MacBook
- Capture the whole scrollable page, not just the visible part
- Turn on dark mode or hide ads and cookie banners
- Pull the text, markdown, links, or metadata out of a page
- Capture up to 50 pages in one batch job
- Check your screenshot usage for the month
Try asking your AI
- “Take a screenshot of example.com and show it to me”
- “Capture this page as a PDF, full page, with ads blocked”
- “Show me how this site looks on an iPhone 14 in dark mode”
- “Extract the main text from this article as markdown”
What it gives back to you
You get back an image, a PDF, or a block of text, depending on what you asked for. For batch jobs you get a job ID first, then a list of download links once it finishes. For usage questions you get numbers, like how many screenshots you have used this month. Everything shows up right in your chat.
Before you start
What you need
- A SnapRender account (free signup gives you 200 screenshots a month, no credit card)
- Your SnapRender API key, which starts with sk_live_ (a kind of password for apps; the site gives you one)
- For the local option: Node.js installed on your computer
- For the remote option: nothing to install, just the server URL
Good to know
It can delete webhooks, and every screenshot you take counts against your monthly plan limit.
