Registrum MCP server
by vdmeu
Look up UK company details, directors, owners and filed financials straight from your AI chat.

This is a helper that lets your AI look up information about UK companies. You ask a question in plain English, and it finds the company, its directors, its owners and its filed accounts for you. It is handy if you check companies for work, like doing research, sales, compliance or journalism.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. It cannot look things up in the real world. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill. This one connects your AI to Registrum, which reads public UK company records, so your AI can answer questions like who owns a company or what its turnover was.
What this MCP server does
You type a question, like who owns a company or what its latest accounts say. Your AI passes that to this helper. The helper talks to the Registrum service, which reads the public UK company register. Registrum cleans up the messy parts, like turning filed accounts into plain numbers. Then your AI shows you the answer in the chat.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Search for a UK company by name and get its company number
- See a company's status, age, what it does and any overdue filing flags
- Read turnover, net assets, profit or loss and employee numbers from filed accounts
- List the current directors and the other companies they sit on
- Find the people who ultimately own or control a private company
- Check which directors and owners have verified their identity with Companies House
- See which companies are connected through shared directors
Try asking your AI
- “Search for Monzo and show me its status, incorporation date and directors.”
- “Pull the last filed financials for 00445790 and tell me if turnover grew.”
- “Who ultimately owns BrewDog? Trace the ownership chain to the individuals.”
- “Which companies share directors with Barratt Developments?”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat, written in normal sentences. Behind that, it sends back lists of directors, owners, companies and numbers like turnover or net assets in pounds. If something is not available, it says so instead of making it up. For example, a company that has filed no machine-readable accounts will show financials as not available.
Before you start
What you need
- Nothing to start: the hosted link works without an account or key
- A free Registrum key if you want higher limits or to run it on your own computer
- An MCP-compatible app like Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor
Good to know
The free tier has small daily limits on ownership chains and financial statements, and the compliance check needs a paid plan.
Install it with your AI
