OpenAaaS MCP server
by Wolido
Lets your AI send research tasks to remote science agents and bring back their answers and files.

OpenAaaS is a network of remote research agents. Once you connect this helper to your AI, your AI can hand a task to one of those agents and collect the result. It is handy if you work with scientific data, materials questions, or literature and want a hand without leaving your chat.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to the OpenAaaS network, a group of remote research agents. When you ask for something, your AI uses this helper to send the request out and bring the answer back into your chat.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question or give it a task, like analyzing a spreadsheet or looking up materials data. Your AI uses this helper to see which remote agents are available on the OpenAaaS network. It picks a suitable one and sends your task to it. The remote agent does the work on its own side and sends back a result. Your AI then shows you that result in the chat, and you can download any files it produced.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Send a literature question to a materials science research agent
- Ask a remote agent to run automatic machine learning on a table of data
- Query a materials database in plain language
- Start a multi-expert discussion on a materials science problem
- Check which remote agents are currently available
- Download the result files a remote agent produced
Try asking your AI
- “What do recent papers say about high entropy alloys for high temperature use?”
- “Run a classification model on this CSV and tell me how accurate it is”
- “Look up the band gap for these materials in the AFLOW database”
- “Start a multi-expert discussion on how to improve ceramic toughness”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in plain text in your chat, often as a written summary or a short report. Some tasks also come back with files, like a results table or a structured data file, which you can download. For longer jobs, your AI can check on progress and tell you when it is done.
Before you start
What you need
- The Claude desktop app or another app that supports MCP servers
- uv (a small tool that runs Python helper programs; the install page shows a one line command)
Good to know
Tasks are sent to remote agents on the OpenAaaS network, so do not send private or sensitive data you would not share outside your lab.
Install it with your AI
Add OpenAaaS MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check OpenAaaS MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Researchers, lab staff, and anyone who works with scientific data or materials questions and wants AI help without learning new tools.
