Agent402 is a big toolbox that your AI assistant can use. It holds hundreds of small tools for things like searching the web, reading PDFs, pulling text out of images, and looking up prices and public records. It is handy if you often ask your AI to fetch or check things and it says it cannot.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to Agent402, a large catalog of tools. So when you ask for something, your AI can reach out through this helper and actually do it instead of guessing.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a question or a task in normal words. Your AI looks at the list of tools this helper offers and picks the right one. The helper then runs that tool, for example searching the web, rendering a web page, or reading a PDF. The result comes back and your AI turns it into an answer for you. You never have to install or run the individual tools yourself.

What you can do with it

  • Search the live web and get answers with sources
  • Open a web page and turn it into clean text
  • Pull text out of an image or a scanned page
  • Merge, split or convert PDF files
  • Look up stock, crypto and currency prices
  • Check public records like SEC filings or weather data
  • Run quick calculations like distances or hashes

Try asking your AI

  • “Search the web for the latest news about electric cars and give me a short summary with links”
  • “Take this PDF and turn it into plain text I can copy”
  • “What is the current price of Bitcoin and how has it moved this week”
  • “Read this image and tell me what text is on it”

What it gives back to you

You get back whatever the tool produced: a list of search results, a block of text, a number, a small file, or a short written answer. Your AI shows it to you in the chat, often with a little explanation. For example, a web search returns titles, links and snippets, and your AI can summarize them for you. If a tool makes a change, like merging PDFs, you get the finished file.

Before you start

What you need

  • An AI assistant that can use MCP servers, like Claude or ChatGPT with connectors
  • Nothing else for the free tier

Good to know

Some tools cost a small amount of money per call if you use the paid tier, so keep an eye on that if you connect a wallet.
