DatI MCP server
by yimindev
Lets your AI ask questions of your company databases in plain English and get answers back.

DatI is a helper that sits between your AI assistant and your company databases. You connect a database once, add a few plain-English labels for the tables and columns, and then your AI can look things up for you. It is handy for anyone who needs numbers from a database but does not want to write database queries by hand.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one, DatI, connects your AI to databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and Doris. Once it is connected, your AI can look things up in those databases and bring the answers back into your chat.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question in normal words, like which products sold best last month. Your AI passes that question to DatI. DatI looks at the labels and notes you set up earlier, figures out which tables and columns matter, and runs the right query against your database. Then it sends the results back, and your AI turns them into a clear answer or a small table for you.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Ask questions about your data in plain English and get answers
- Look up which tables and columns exist in a connected database
- Run saved queries that you set up in advance with fill-in-the-blank values
- Use your company's own words for things, like revenue or active customer
- Keep different users seeing only the data they are allowed to see
- Connect several databases and pick the right one for each question
Try asking your AI
- “Which five products had the highest sales last quarter?”
- “Show me the total revenue per region for this year”
- “How many new customers signed up each month in 2024?”
- “List the top ten customers by order value”
What it gives back to you
You get back a written answer, a small table of rows and columns, or a short summary of the numbers. If you asked for a count or a total, you see that number. If you asked for a list, you see the list. Everything shows up right in your chat, the same way a colleague would reply.
Before you start
What you need

Good to know
This tool can read your company databases, so make sure the login you connect has only the access it needs and that DatI's user permissions are set up correctly.
