Skill Seekers MCP server

by yusufkaraaslan

Turn docs, PDFs, videos and wikis into ready-to-use AI skills and knowledge files.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Turn this docs site into a skill for my AI”, the Skill Seekers MCP server works in steps: reads your source, then pulls out the useful parts, then builds a skill file, and you get back A ready-to-use skill file.

Skill Seekers is a helper that takes information you already have, like a documentation website, a PDF, a video, or a wiki page, and turns it into a tidy knowledge file your AI can use. It is handy if you want your AI to actually know about a topic instead of guessing. You do not need to be technical to benefit from it, though setting it up takes a few steps.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another tool. This one connects your AI to Skill Seekers, so it can gather and prepare knowledge from your sources for you. Once it is connected, you just ask in plain words and the AI does the work through this helper.

What this MCP server does

You tell your AI what you want, for example to make a skill from a documentation site. The AI passes that request to this helper. The helper goes out and reads the source, such as a website, a PDF, or a GitHub project, and pulls the useful parts together. It then shapes that into a knowledge file or a package for your AI platform. When it is done, you get back a finished file or folder you can use.

What you can do with it

  • Turn a documentation website into an AI skill
  • Read a PDF or Word document and turn it into knowledge your AI can use
  • Pull information from a GitHub project
  • Combine several sources into one knowledge file
  • Package a finished skill for Claude, Gemini, or other AI tools
  • Install a prepared skill into your AI coding assistant
  • Check the quality of a finished skill

What it gives back to you

It gives you finished files, usually a folder or a zip you can drop into your AI tool. In the chat you will see short updates as it works, like what it found and what it saved. It can also show a quality score or a summary of what was gathered. The end result is something your AI can read and use later.

Before you start

What you need

  • Python 3.10 or newer
  • Git installed on your computer
  • The Skill Seekers package installed (pip install skill-seekers)
  • The MCP extra installed (pip install skill-seekers[mcp])

Good to know

It reads the sources you point it at and writes new files on your computer, so make sure you are allowed to use those sources and check where the output goes.

Install it with your AI

Add Skill Seekers MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
