AI agent for it specialists
Endpoint Compliance Drift Agent
Devices back in compliance, with stragglers identified and escalated
What it does
Devices quietly lose disk encryption, fall behind on updates or stop running their security agent, and nobody notices until an audit. Each week this agent reads your device management data and finds machines with missing encryption, an outdated operating system or a stopped agent. It tries the standard fix on a small test group first and checks whether those devices report healthy afterward. Devices that stay unhealthy are escalated to their owners with the reason. IT approves the wider push. Edge case: a laptop has been offline for three weeks, so the agent marks it as unreachable and asks the owner to connect it.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Weekly compliance scan
- Read device management data
- List devices missing encryption, updates or the security agent
- Group by cause and pick the standard fix for each group
- Run the fix on the test group
- Did the test devices report healthy afterward? If not: review the error, try the alternate fix and test again. Back to step 4.
- IT approves the wider pushThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Run the fix on the remaining devices
- Are the remaining devices healthy after 48 hours? If not: escalate stragglers to their owners with the reason. Back to step 8.
- Compliance report with stragglers and owners
How it decides
A device is out of compliance when it breaks any rule. A fix is rolled out widely only when the test group reports healthy.
- Test every fix on a small group first
- Mark devices offline for over 14 days as unreachable
- Escalate after two failed fix attempts
- Report percent compliant by rule
Make it yours
Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.
- Compliance rules
- Test group size (default: 10 devices)
- Scan day
- Offline days before marking unreachable (default: 14)
What keeps you in control
It always asks you first
- IT approves the wider rollout of any fix
Hard limits
- Never pushes a fix to all devices without approval
- Never wipes or locks a device
It stops when
- Done: compliance meets the target or stragglers are with owners
- Stop: the test group fails twice
