AI agent for carpenters

Tool Safety and Maintenance Log Agent

Keep every tool inspected on time, with failed tools removed and replaced.

Tool Safety and Maintenance Log Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

A cracked cord or a dull blade can stop a job or hurt someone. This agent keeps a list of your tools with the last inspection date, how often they are used, and the inspection checklist for each type. When a tool is due, it reminds you and records the result you enter. For failed items, such as a frayed cord or a swollen battery, it marks the tool out of service and proposes a repair or a replacement from your supplier list. It then checks your purchase list for duplicates. You approve every purchase. Edge case: three drills have the same battery model and two fail, and the agent proposes one purchase.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides

It schedules inspection by time and by hours of use. Failed items go out of service until they pass a recheck.

  • Inspect power cords and blades every 30 days of use (default)
  • Any frayed cord, cracked housing or swollen battery fails
  • Failed tools are out of service until rechecked
  • Combine purchases for shared parts

An example run

What happensA weekly review found a circular saw cord inspected 42 days ago and a battery used for 60 hours. The cord showed a cut in the jacket, so the check failed and the saw went out of service. The agent proposed a $38 cord repair and saw that two other drills used the same $65 battery. The tradesperson approved one battery purchase and the repair.
