Seamless MCP server
by 0spoon
Give your AI coding helper a lasting memory and a shared to-do list stored on your own computer.

Seamless is a memory and coordination helper for AI coding assistants. It keeps notes about your project on your own computer, so your AI does not forget the same things every session. It is handy if you use tools like Claude Code or Codex and want them to remember your project's rules and share work without stepping on each other.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something. Seamless is that helper here: it runs quietly in the background on your machine and lets your AI save and look up project notes and tasks. When you ask your AI something, it can check Seamless first and give you a better answer.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question or give it a task. The AI talks to Seamless, which looks up your saved notes and the project to-do list. Seamless reads the markdown files on your disk and finds what is relevant. Then it sends that back to your AI, which uses it to answer you or to pick the next piece of work. If two AI helpers are working at once, Seamless makes sure they do not grab the same task.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Remember project rules and decisions across sessions
- Look up past notes when your AI needs context
- Keep a shared to-do list for one or more AI helpers
- Claim a task so two helpers do not do the same work
- Save plans as notes and steps your AI can follow
- Show a web page where you can read and edit the memory
- Store everything as plain markdown files you can open yourself
What it gives back to you
You get answers in plain chat: a summary of a past decision, a list of ready tasks, or a confirmation that a note was saved. When your AI claims a task, it tells you the task name and who holds it. If a claim fails, it tells you which helper already has it. You can also open the web console to see all notes and tasks yourself.
Before you start
What you need
- A Mac, Linux, or Windows computer
- The install script from thereisnospoon.org (it sets everything up for you)
- An AI client that speaks MCP, such as Claude Code or Codex CLI
Good to know
Seamless reads and writes files in your project's memory folder, so keep a backup of ~/.seamless if the notes matter to you.
Install it with your AI
Add Seamless MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Seamless MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Developers and technical teams who run AI coding helpers and want them to remember project details and share work.
