Google Search MCP server (AceDataCloud)

by AceDataCloud

Lets your AI run Google searches for web, images, news, videos, places and maps, and hand you the results.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “What's happening in my industry this week?”, the Google Search MCP server (AceDataCloud) connects it to Google Search, and you get back answer with links and sources.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to Google search through a service called AceDataCloud. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI to look something up and it will actually search the web instead of guessing. It is handy for anyone who does research, checks news, or looks up places during the workday.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Google search through AceDataCloud, so when you ask a question the AI can go look it up and bring real results back to you. You do not need to understand how it works inside; you just add it once and then talk to your AI as usual.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a question, like what is happening in your industry this week. The AI passes your request to this helper, and the helper sends it to the AceDataCloud Google search service. Google runs the search and the service sends back a tidy set of results, such as web pages, news articles, images, videos, or local places. The AI then reads those results and writes you a short answer in the chat, often with links you can click.

What you can do with it

  • Search the web for a topic and get titles, links and short snippets
  • Find recent news articles and filter them by time, like the past day or week
  • Look up images with links and thumbnails
  • Find videos on a subject
  • Search for local businesses and places in a specific country
  • Look up locations and map information
  • Get a quick summary of a company, person or topic from Google's knowledge panel

Try asking your AI

  • “Search the web for the latest rules on remote work in the UK”
  • “Find news about our main competitor from the past week”
  • “Show me images of modern office layouts”
  • “Find popular restaurants in Tokyo”

What it gives back to you

You get a written answer in the chat, based on real search results. Depending on what you asked, that can include a list of links with short descriptions, a set of news headlines with sources and dates, image links and thumbnails, video results, or details about places and locations. Sometimes the AI also shows a short summary pulled from Google's knowledge panel or a direct answer box.

Before you start

What you need

  • An AceDataCloud account (you sign up on their platform and click Acquire to get an API token, which is like a password for apps)
  • An AI app that supports MCP servers, such as Claude, VS Code, Cursor or similar
  • The server URL https://serp.mcp.acedata.cloud/mcp added in your app's settings

Good to know

Each search uses your AceDataCloud account, so depending on your plan it may use up credits or cost money, and the results come from Google so they can be wrong or out of date.
