AI Canvas is a library of ready-made animated React components and page sections. This MCP server connects that library to your AI editor, so your AI can look up components and hand you the exact install command. It is handy if you build websites and want your AI to do the searching for you.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to the AI Canvas component registry, so it can look up components and their source code for you. You just ask in plain words, and the AI uses this helper behind the scenes.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI to find a component, for example an animated card deck. The AI passes your request to this helper program. The helper talks to the AI Canvas registry online and pulls back the matching components, their details, and their source code. Then your AI shows you what it found and the command to install it. The helper only reads; it does not change anything on your computer.

What you can do with it

  • Search the AI Canvas library for components by keyword
  • Fetch the full source code of a component
  • Get the exact install command for a component
  • Look up design systems and page blocks
  • See component details like name and category
  • Find newly published components shortly after they ship

Try asking your AI

  • “Find me an animated card deck component from AI Canvas”
  • “Show me the source code for the task-cards block”
  • “What is the install command for the AI Canvas signature pad”
  • “Search AI Canvas for a voice chat component”

What it gives back to you

You get back a list of matching components with short details, or the full source code of one component. Your AI usually shows this as a short summary in the chat, plus the install command you can copy. Nothing is installed automatically; you run the command yourself when you are ready.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js installed on your computer
  • An MCP-compatible AI editor such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor

Good to know

This helper only reads from the AI Canvas registry, so it will not change or delete anything on your computer.

Install it with your AI
