AppsGolem MCP server
by apancyborg · official
Let your AI cut clips from YouTube videos and hand you a download link.

This connects your AI assistant to AppsGolem, a service that cuts pieces out of YouTube videos. Once it is hooked up, you just describe the part you want and the AI asks AppsGolem to make the clip. It saves time if you regularly grab highlights, turn talk segments into audio, or pull screenshots from a video.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a little helper program that plugs into your AI and teaches it a new trick. This particular helper links your AI to AppsGolem's cutting service. So when you say "make me a clip," the AI sends that order through this bridge and brings the finished thing back to your chat window.
What this MCP server does
When you give your AI a YouTube address and a piece you want, the AI hands those details to this server. The server forwards the request to AppsGolem, waits while the clip gets prepared, and keeps asking how it is going. As soon as the clip exists, the server receives a fresh download link. Then the AI shows you that link right inside the conversation. There is also a way to check leftover credits and to peek at a running job later.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Download a slice of a YouTube video between two timestamps
- Save just the sound from a section as an mp3 or similar file
- Create a portrait version sized for phone feeds
- Turn a few seconds into a looping animated picture
- Pull several pictures out of a stretch of footage
- Join multiple slices together into one continuous file
- Check how much spending room remains on your AppsGolem plan
Try asking your AI
- “Cut 0:40 to 2:25 from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ in high resolution”
- “Take just the voices from 11 minutes to 13 minutes and save them as an mp3”
- “Please trim three separate moments from my latest upload and combine them into a single preview”
- “What is my remaining AppsGolem budget?”
What it gives back to you
Most often you receive a message saying whether the clip worked and where to find it. For successful ones the answer contains a clickable download address pointing straight to the saved file. While something is still being processed you might get updates showing queued states rather than final results. Asking about funds yields simple figures such as a number representing units left along with a possible usage ceiling per hour.
