Reddit Ads MCP server

by camlowe

Lets your AI read your Reddit ad campaigns and reports, and make changes like pausing or budget edits when you allow it.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to your Reddit Ads account. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI questions about your campaigns and, if you choose, have it make changes like pausing an ad or adjusting a budget. It is handy for anyone who runs Reddit ads and wants to skip clicking around the dashboard.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Reddit Ads, so it can look up your campaigns, ad groups, ads, and performance numbers, and make changes there when you ask. You stay in charge: at first it can only read, and you have to turn on changes yourself.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something about your Reddit ads, like how a campaign did last week. Your AI uses this helper, which talks to Reddit's Ads system using your account login. Reddit sends back the numbers or the list of campaigns, and the helper passes them to your AI. Your AI then explains it to you in plain words in the chat. If you turn on changes, the same path lets it pause an ad, rename something, or adjust a budget.

What you can do with it

  • List your Reddit ad accounts and give you an overview of one
  • Show your campaigns, ad groups, and ads, filtered by active, paused, or archived
  • Pull performance reports for a date range, by campaign or by ad
  • Compare two time periods or two ads side by side
  • Search for subreddits, interest categories, and locations you can target
  • Pause or rename campaigns, ad groups, and ads
  • Create new campaigns, ad groups, and ads (they start paused)
  • Copy ads into another ad group, with an option to rewrite tracking links

Try asking your AI

  • “Give me an overview of my Reddit ad account.”
  • “Show the last 7 days of performance by campaign.”
  • “Which of my ad groups are currently active?”
  • “Pause the ad group called Spring Test.”
  • “Compare this week to last week for my main campaign.”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat: lists of campaigns or ads, tables of numbers like impressions, clicks, and spend, and short summaries your AI writes from that data. When it makes a change, it tells you what it did, and you can check the result in your Reddit Ads dashboard. Reports come back as numbers and text, not as files.

Before you start

What you need

  • A Reddit Ads account with business-admin access
  • Node.js 20 or newer on your computer
  • An MCP client like Claude Code or Claude Desktop
  • A Reddit app you register yourself to get a client ID and client secret (the setup helper walks you through it)

Good to know

Once you turn on writes, this can change live ads and budgets and affect real ad spend, so review every change it makes and keep your Reddit credentials safe.
