DDG Agent-Payable Services MCP server

by daedalusdevelopmentgroup

Lets your AI run small paid tools like web search, DNS lookups, screenshots, and stock prices, one call at a time.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “What is the current price of Apple stock?”, the DDG Agent-Payable Services MCP server reaches Web search, DNS and WHOIS, Screenshots, Stock prices, Security checks and Text tools, and you get back your answer in the chat.

This is a gateway to a big menu of small online tools that your AI can call for you. Each call costs a tiny amount of money, usually a fraction of a cent, and you pay with crypto. It is handy if you want your AI to look things up or do small jobs on the web without setting up your own accounts everywhere.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to the DDG service gateway, so when you ask for something like a DNS lookup or a stock price, your AI can actually go get it. You do not install anything on your computer for the hosted version; you just point your AI at the address.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a question or give it a small job. Your AI sends that request to this helper. The helper talks to the DDG gateway, which runs the actual tool, like a web search, a screenshot, or a price check. The gateway charges a tiny fee to your crypto wallet for that call. Then the answer comes back and your AI shows it to you in the chat.

What you can do with it

  • Look up DNS records, WHOIS details, and IP locations
  • Search the web, Twitter, Reddit, Hacker News, and YouTube transcripts
  • Take screenshots of web pages and turn pages into clean markdown
  • Check stock, commodity, and currency prices
  • Run security checks like SSL info, threat checks, and prompt injection scans
  • Summarize, translate, and check the sentiment of text
  • Generate QR codes, UUIDs, hashes, and small images

Try asking your AI

  • “What is the current price of Apple stock?”
  • “Look up the DNS records for example.com”
  • “Take a screenshot of the homepage at example.org”
  • “Summarize this article for me and tell me if the tone is positive”

What it gives back to you

You get back a short answer, a list, or a small file, depending on the tool. For example, a stock price comes back as a number with some extra details, a DNS lookup comes back as a list of records, and a screenshot comes back as an image. Your AI shows this in the chat, usually with a sentence explaining what it found. If a tool fails, you get an error message instead.

Before you start

What you need

  • A crypto wallet with a small amount of USDC on a supported network like Base
  • Your wallet private key, which acts like a password for paying the tiny fees
  • An MCP-capable app like Claude Desktop or Cursor

Good to know

Each call costs a small amount of crypto from your wallet, so keep an eye on how often your AI uses it, and never share your private key with anyone.
