Duplex MCP server
Let your AI share the same browser tab as you, so it can look at pages, click, and type while you watch.
Duplex is a desktop browser that you and your AI can use at the same time. You see the normal page, and the AI reads the page in text form so it can help you browse. It is handy if you want an AI assistant to open pages, fill things in, or look things up while you keep an eye on it.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app. This one connects your AI to a real browser, Duplex, so it can open tabs, click buttons, and read pages when you ask. You stay in the same live session, so you can take over at any moment.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI to do something in the browser, like open a site or find a page. The AI sends that request to the Duplex helper, which passes it to the browser you have open. The browser does the action, such as clicking or typing, and sends back what it sees, like a text outline of the page or a screenshot. You watch it happen in the same window, and you can press a key to stop the AI and take control.
What you can do with it
- Open a website and describe what is on the page
- Click buttons and links the AI finds for you
- Type text into search boxes or forms
- Take a screenshot of the visible page
- Switch between tabs and open new ones
- Draw a box on a page and ask a question about it
- Read the page's error messages in the console
Try asking your AI
- “Open example.com and tell me what the page is about”
- “Search for the weather in Paris and read me the result”
- “Click the login button and type my email into the form”
- “Take a screenshot of this page and describe what you see”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat, like a short summary of a page or a list of links the AI found. It can also show you a screenshot or a text outline of the page. When it clicks or types, you see those actions happen live in the browser window. If something goes wrong, the AI tells you what it saw.
Before you start
What you need
- The Duplex desktop app installed on your computer
- An MCP client like opencode, Claude Code, or another tool that can talk to MCP servers
- If you want to use the built-in AI, an API key from a provider like DeepSeek, Kimi, or a local Ollama setup
Good to know
The AI can control your real browser session, including logged-in accounts, so it could send messages, submit forms, or change data. Do not leave it running unattended on important accounts, and use the emergency stop key if something looks wrong.
Install it with your AI
Add Duplex MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Duplex MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,361 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants an AI to help them browse the web while they stay in control, like researchers, testers, or people doing repetitive online tasks.
