Flowcore Platform MCP server

by flowcore-io · official

Lets your AI work with your Flowcore data cores: send data in, look things up, and cross-check records.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to Flowcore, a platform for storing and working with data. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI in plain words to add data, fetch data, or compare data in your own cores or public ones. It is handy if your team already uses Flowcore and you want to skip clicking around the website.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot see or touch the apps you use. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill, here a connection to the Flowcore platform. So when you ask about your Flowcore data, the AI passes your request to this helper, and the helper talks to Flowcore for you.

What this MCP server does

You type a request in your AI chat, like asking what is in a data core or telling it to add a record. The AI sends that request to this helper program running on your computer. The helper logs into Flowcore with your username and personal token, then carries out the action there. Flowcore sends the answer back, and the AI shows it to you in the chat. You never have to open the Flowcore website yourself.

What you can do with it

  • Add new data into a Flowcore data core
  • Look up and read data from your cores
  • Cross-reference data between your own and public cores
  • Ask questions about what is stored in a core
  • Manage Flowcore resources through your AI chat

Try asking your AI

  • “Show me the latest records in my sales data core”
  • “Add this new customer entry to my Flowcore core”
  • “Compare my internal data with the public core on the same topic”
  • “What data cores do I have access to?”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat: lists of records, short summaries, or the numbers you asked about. When you ask it to add or change something, it tells you what it did. It can also pull matching items from more than one core so you can see them side by side.

Before you start

What you need

  • A Flowcore account
  • Your Flowcore username
  • A Flowcore PAT (Personal Access Token, a kind of password just for apps)
  • Node.js installed if you want to run it with npx

Good to know

It can add and change data in your Flowcore cores, so check what you ask it to do before you confirm.

Install it with your AI
