LynxPrompt MCP server

by GeiserX

Lets your AI browse, search and manage your LynxPrompt prompts and config files for you.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Find my prompts about weekly reports”, the LynxPrompt MCP server connects it to LynxPrompt, and you get back matching prompts or confirmation.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to LynxPrompt, a place where you keep your AI prompts and configuration files like AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md. Once it is connected, you can ask your AI to find a prompt, tidy things up, or create a new one, instead of clicking around yourself. It is handy if you keep a growing pile of prompts and want to stop hunting for them by hand.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app, and here that app is LynxPrompt. You add this helper once, and from then on your AI can look things up in your LynxPrompt account or make changes there when you ask. You do not need to understand how it works inside; you just talk to your AI like always.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like "find my prompt about weekly reports" or "make a new blueprint for onboarding emails". The AI passes your request to this helper, and the helper talks to LynxPrompt for you. LynxPrompt sends back the matching prompts, folders or details, and the helper hands them to your AI. Your AI then shows you the answer in the chat, or tells you it made the change you asked for. It can also read your current user info and the folder structure, so it knows what is where.

What you can do with it

  • Search your prompts and blueprints by keyword
  • Create a new prompt or blueprint
  • Update an existing prompt or blueprint
  • Delete a prompt or blueprint you no longer need
  • Browse your folder structure (hierarchies)
  • Create or remove a folder group
  • Check which LynxPrompt user you are signed in as

Try asking your AI

  • “Find all my prompts about customer support replies”
  • “Create a new blueprint called Weekly Status Update with a short template”
  • “Show me my LynxPrompt folder structure”
  • “Delete the old draft prompt about meeting notes”

What it gives back to you

You get back plain answers in the chat: lists of matching prompts with their names and details, the contents of a prompt you asked for, or a short confirmation that something was created, updated or deleted. Folder structure comes back as a simple list of groups. You do not have to open LynxPrompt yourself to see it.

Before you start

What you need

  • A LynxPrompt account (on lynxprompt.com or your own self-hosted copy)
  • A LynxPrompt token, which is a kind of password the site gives you for apps like this
  • An MCP client such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor

Good to know

It can change and delete your prompts and folders, so double-check before you let your AI remove anything.

Install it with your AI
