Crawl Readiness MCP server

by Grubbomatic

Check if AI crawlers can read your site, and fix what is broken, right inside your AI chat.

This is a helper that lets your AI assistant check whether AI systems like ChatGPT and Claude can actually read your website. You ask a question in plain words, and it runs a real check on your site and tells you what is wrong. It is handy for anyone who runs a website and wants to show up in AI answers, not just in Google.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to the Crawl Readiness service, which checks websites for AI crawlers. Once it is connected, your AI can look up your site, score it, and even write fix files for you when you ask.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like whether your site is AI-readable. Your AI passes that request to this helper, and the helper talks to the Crawl Readiness service. The service checks your site against many AI crawlers, looks at your robots.txt and structured data, and sends the results back. Your AI then explains the results to you in the chat and can offer to fix things. Some tools can also write files like llms.txt straight into your project.

What you can do with it

  • Score your site from 0 to 100 for AI crawler readiness
  • Validate the JSON-LD structured data on any web page
  • Audit your robots.txt line by line
  • Compare what humans see against what AI crawlers see
  • Generate an llms.txt file for your site
  • Generate an AI-aware robots.txt file
  • Generate Organization, WebSite, or Article JSON-LD

Try asking your AI

  • “Is my portfolio site AI-readable? URL: yourdomain.com”
  • “Check if ChatGPT can see acme-inc.com”
  • “Validate the JSON-LD on stripe.com and tell me what is missing”
  • “Generate an llms.txt for my site and save it to /public/llms.txt”

What it gives back to you

You get back a score, a list of issues, and a prioritized list of fixes, all explained in the chat. For structured data and robots.txt you get per-line or per-block problems with errors and warnings. The generator tools give you file content you can save, like an llms.txt or a JSON-LD snippet. If you use the monitor tool, you get mention rates and trends for your brand versus competitors.

Before you start

What you need

  • The Claude desktop app, Cursor, or another MCP-compatible client
  • Node.js installed on your computer (the helper runs with npx)
  • A free API key from crawlreadiness.com for the generator and monitor tools (the audit tools work without one)

Good to know

The generator tools can write files into your project, so check what they produce before you publish it, and the monitor tool reads your private LLM Monitor projects.
