Indeed MCP server
by HasData
Lets your AI search Indeed job listings and read full postings, with salary and company details.
This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to Indeed, the job search site. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI in plain words to find jobs or read a posting, and it will go and fetch that for you. It is handy for anyone who is job hunting, hiring, or researching pay for a role.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Indeed, so it can look up real job listings and full postings when you ask. You do not need to visit Indeed yourself or copy and paste anything.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like find recent Python jobs in New York. Your AI sends that request to this helper, which talks to Indeed behind the scenes. Indeed sends back the matching job listings with company, location, salary when stated, and posting date. Your AI then shows you the results in the chat, or reads a single posting in full if you ask for more detail. Everything comes back as clean, structured information rather than a messy web page.
What you can do with it
- Search job listings by keyword and location
- Sort results by newest first or by relevance
- Read a full job posting, including description and requirements
- Compare salaries for the same role in different cities
- Filter to remote or hybrid jobs
- Look up jobs on Indeed sites for other countries
- Find the most recent postings for a role
Try asking your AI
- “Search Indeed for python developer jobs in New York sorted by date, and give me the ten most recent with company and salary.”
- “Take the top posting from that search and pull its full description and requirements.”
- “Find data analyst jobs in Austin, then pull full details on the three that list a salary.”
- “Compare the salaries posted for registered nurse in Chicago against Houston.”
What it gives back to you
You get back a list of jobs, each with title, company, location, salary when the posting states one, and the date it was posted. If you ask for a full posting, you get the whole description, requirements, and the apply link. Your AI usually turns this into a tidy summary or table right in the chat. You can also ask it to compare or filter the results for you.
