Quality Control Plan MCP server
by imnoo-team
Turn a technical drawing PDF into a numbered inspection plan, a ballooned drawing and an Excel report.

This is a helper that lets your AI read a technical drawing PDF and build a quality control plan from it. You hand over the file, and you get back a numbered inspection plan with tolerances, fits, threads, geometric tolerances and surface finishes, plus a ballooned drawing and an Excel report. It is handy for anyone who has to check machined parts and write down how they were inspected.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to Imnoo's drawing analysis, the same service behind their quality check web app. So when you ask for a quality plan, your AI can actually read the drawing and produce the documents for you.
What this MCP server does
You give your AI a drawing PDF and say what kind of plan you want. Your AI sends the PDF to Imnoo's drawing analysis, which finds every characteristic on it: sizes with tolerances, fits, threads, geometric tolerances and surface finishes. Then it builds the plan, giving each characteristic a balloon number and an acceptance range, for example a size of 50 with plus or minus 0.05 becomes 49.95 to 50.05, along with a measuring instrument. Finally it writes the ballooned drawing as a PDF and the measurement and inspection report as an Excel file. Everything after the first upload happens on your own computer, with no further uploads.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Extract tolerances, fits, threads, geometric tolerances and surface finishes from a drawing PDF
- Build a numbered inspection plan with acceptance limits and a measuring instrument per characteristic
- Choose an inspection class such as full inspection, Q1 reduced or Q2 spot check
- Keep the balloon numbers printed on the drawing or renumber them in reading or measurement order
- Write a ballooned drawing PDF with numbered balloons and leader arrows
- Write an Excel measurement and inspection report with a checklist and signature block
- Save an analysis once and reuse it later without uploading again
Try asking your AI
- “Create a Q1 quality plan for flange.pdf with type-prefixed balloon numbers”
- “Analyze this drawing and tell me which characteristics were found with low confidence”
- “Build a full inspection plan for this part and write the ballooned drawing and the Excel report”
- “Use the saved analysis from last week and make a Q2 plan with padded numbers”
What it gives back to you
You get a short summary of what was found on the drawing, for example how many characteristics of each type and the title block details like drawing number, article and material. You also get the plan itself, as a list of numbered rows with nominal size, tolerance range and measuring instrument. The two files, the ballooned drawing PDF and the Excel report, are written to your computer and named after the drawing, for example QP-1001-A_inspection-package.pdf and QP-1001-A_Q1.xlsx.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js 18 or newer on your computer
- An MCP-enabled assistant such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code with Copilot, or Windsurf
- A technical drawing as a PDF file, up to 30 MB
Good to know
The drawing reading is automatic and can miss or misread characteristics, especially on poor scans, so check the plan against the drawing before it goes to the shop floor, and remember the online analysis allows only one free upload per day per IP address.
Install it with your AI
Add Quality Control Plan MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Quality Control Plan MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Quality inspectors, machinists, CNC shop staff and engineers who have to turn technical drawings into inspection plans and reports.
