Clipcliper is a helper that lets your AI read a public video for you. You paste a link, and your AI comes back with a transcript with timestamps, a list of chapters and suggestions for the best moments to clip. It is handy if you work with video content and want to find quotes or highlights without watching the whole thing.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill. This server gives your AI a connection to Clipcliper, a service that listens to videos and writes down what is said. So when you ask your AI about a video, it can send the link to Clipcliper and bring the answer back to your chat.

What this MCP server does

You give your AI a public video link from YouTube, Twitch, Kick or TikTok. Your AI passes that link to Clipcliper. Clipcliper downloads the video, transcribes the speech with Whisper and then deletes the video file. You get back the transcript with timestamps, plus chapters and clip suggestions if you want them. The transcript stays available for 24 hours, so you can ask for it again without paying twice.

What you can do with it

  • Get a full transcript of a video with timestamps
  • Get the transcript as plain text, SRT subtitles or segments
  • Get topic chapters with start and end times and short summaries
  • Get suggestions for the most shareable moments as short clips
  • Add your own editorial instruction to guide the clip suggestions
  • Reuse a transcript for 24 hours without paying again

Try asking your AI

  • “Give me the transcript of this YouTube video with timestamps”
  • “What are the main chapters of this Twitch VOD?”
  • “Suggest five clips from this TikTok with hook titles”
  • “Turn this Kick VOD into SRT subtitles”

What it gives back to you

You get text back in your chat. The transcript comes as lines with timestamps, or as plain text, SRT or JSON segments if you ask. Chapters come as a list with start, end, title and a one-line summary. Clip suggestions come as a list with start, end, a hook-style title and a short reason. If the video is still being processed, you get a note saying so and you can ask again.
