AgentMemory for Codex on Windows
by M-T-D-N
Gives your Codex AI a memory on Windows, so it remembers useful context from earlier tasks.
This is a memory helper for people who use Codex Desktop or Codex CLI on Windows. It saves useful bits from your past chats with the AI and brings them back when they are relevant. It is handy if you keep repeating the same background to your AI and want it to just remember.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you in the moment. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something. This one is a helper that runs on your own Windows computer and connects your AI to a memory store. When you ask your AI something, it can quietly look in that memory store and use what it finds.
What this MCP server does
You work with Codex as usual and it saves the important parts of your prompts and its answers into a memory store on your machine. Later, when you ask something related, the AI can search that store and pull back the useful pieces. It keeps each project's memories separate, so work from one project does not leak into another unless you ask for it. It can also build a small map of how ideas connect, to help find related notes. You get the AI's answer with the remembered context already woven in.
What you can do with it
- Recall what you discussed in an earlier session on the same project
- Search your saved notes by keyword or meaning
- Look at a timeline of when things were saved
- Keep each project's memories separate from the others
- Pull in related memories from other projects when you ask
- Preview and correct links between ideas before saving them
Try asking your AI
- “What did we decide about the login flow last week?”
- “Search my notes for anything about the database migration”
- “Show me a timeline of what we worked on this month”
- “Remind me of the fix we found for that build error”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat that already include the relevant bits from your earlier work. You can also ask for a list of matching notes, a short summary, or a timeline of when things were saved. When you correct a link between ideas, it tells you what changed. Everything stays on your computer.
