AgentPlaybooks MCP server
Keep your AI's persona, skills, instructions, and memory in one portable playbook across tools.
AgentPlaybooks is a place to keep everything that shapes how your AI works: its persona, its instructions, its skills, and things it remembers. Instead of setting this up again in every app, you keep it in one playbook and reuse it. It is handy if you use more than one AI tool, or if you want your setup to stay yours.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to AgentPlaybooks, so it can read your playbook and use what is inside it. When you ask for something, your AI quietly checks the playbook and follows the persona, rules, and skills you saved there.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI to do something, like follow your project rules or use one of your saved skills. Your AI talks to this helper, which looks up your playbook on AgentPlaybooks. The helper brings back your persona, instructions, skills, or saved memory. Your AI then answers or acts using that information, so it behaves the same way no matter which app you are in.
What you can do with it
- Reuse the same persona and instructions across different AI apps
- Load your saved skills into a chat when you need them
- Keep notes and facts in a memory store your AI can read and update
- Connect other tools and services through your playbook
- Share a playbook with a teammate without sharing your passwords
- Export your setup so you can move it to another tool
Try asking your AI
- “Use my coding playbook and follow its instructions for this task”
- “What skills do I have saved in my playbook?”
- “Remember that this project uses British spelling”
- “Apply my writing persona to this draft”
What it gives back to you
It gives your AI your saved persona, instructions, skills, and memory entries as text it can read. In the chat, you will see your AI following those rules or using those skills, sometimes with a short note about what it loaded. If your AI saves something to memory, you may see a small confirmation. You usually will not see raw technical data, just the result in your AI's answer.
Before you start
What you need
- An AgentPlaybooks account (you can sign in with OAuth, no API key needed for Claude)
- At least one playbook set up with your persona, instructions, or skills

Good to know
It can store and use your saved secrets and memory, so check who has access to a playbook before you share it.
