Usable Browser Agent MCP server

by Savvy-Tech-Sphere

Lets your AI use your real, already-logged-in Firefox to click, type and read pages for you.

This is a helper that lets your AI work inside your own Firefox, with all your existing logins, instead of a separate empty browser. You install a small Firefox add-on once, and then your AI can look at the page and do things on it when you ask. It is handy if you already use Claude Code or Codex and want it to handle web tasks in the sites you are signed into.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something else. This one connects your AI to your own Firefox browser, so when you ask for something the AI can actually look at the page and click or type there. You stay in charge: you log in by hand once, and the AI works as you.

What this MCP server does

You install the Firefox add-on once and run a short setup command that tells your AI tool about this helper. Then you open Firefox, log into the sites you care about, and make sure the add-on badge says ON. When you ask your AI to do something on the active tab, it takes a picture of the page as a list of clickable items with simple labels. Then it clicks or types using those labels, one step at a time, and tells you what happened.

What you can do with it

  • Read a page and list what is on it
  • Click buttons and links by their label
  • Fill in forms and search boxes
  • Log into sites using saved logins from a local vault
  • Open, switch and close browser tabs
  • Download files and save the current page as a PDF
  • Read what is on your clipboard and paste into rich editors

Try asking your AI

  • “On the active tab, open my notifications and list the pull requests waiting on me”
  • “On the active tab, search for wireless headphones and add the first result to the cart”
  • “Fill in the contact form on this page with my name and email”
  • “Save this page as a PDF and tell me where the file is”

What it gives back to you

You get plain answers in the chat, like a short list of items it found or a note saying it clicked something. When it saves a file or a PDF, it tells you the file name and where it went on your computer. When it logs you in, it just says something like logged in, and never shows your password. It can also show you a screenshot when you ask for one.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js 18 or newer installed on your computer
  • Firefox 142 or newer (macOS is the first supported system)
  • The Usable Browser Agent (free) add-on from Firefox Add-ons
  • Claude Code or Codex already set up

Good to know

The AI acts inside your real browser as you and can click, type, download and log in on your behalf, so keep an eye on what it does on important sites.

Install it with your AI

Add Usable Browser Agent MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
