Spix MCP server
by Spix-HQ
Let your AI make phone calls, send emails and texts, and manage your contacts for you.

Spix is a service that gives your AI a phone number, an inbox, and a voice. This MCP server connects that service to your AI chat app, so you can ask your assistant to place a call, send an email, or look up a contact. It is handy if you handle a lot of calls, follow-ups, or messages and want your AI to do the legwork.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Spix, so it can make calls, send emails and texts, and read your contacts when you ask. You stay in the chat; the helper does the talking to Spix behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like 'call this number and tell me what they said'. The AI passes your request to this helper program. The helper talks to Spix, which actually dials the number or sends the message. When it is done, the AI shows you the result in the chat, like a call summary or a list of emails.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Make an outbound phone call with an AI voice
- Read the transcript and summary of a call
- Send an email or reply to one from your Spix inbox
- Send an SMS and read the back-and-forth thread
- List and look up your contacts and their history
- Create and manage call or SMS playbooks
- Check your credit balance and billing status
Try asking your AI
- “Call +19175550123 using the prospect-qualifier playbook and tell me what they said.”
- “Send an email to jane@example.com thanking her for the meeting and asking for a follow-up next week.”
- “Show me my last five calls and summarize each one.”
- “Text this customer that their order has shipped and let me know if they reply.”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat, in plain words. That can be a list of calls or emails, a full transcript, a short summary with key details pulled out, or a confirmation that a message was sent. For calls, you also get the recording and the extracted fields the AI picked up during the conversation.
Before you start
What you need
- A Spix account (free Sandbox for email, Agent plan for calls)
- An API key from app.spix.sh (a kind of password for apps; the site gives you one)
- Python 3.10 or newer
- The Spix CLI installed and logged in, or the uvx tool
Good to know
This server can place real calls, send real emails and texts, and change or delete things like playbooks and phone numbers, so double-check before you ask it to do something you cannot undo.
