SWARM paid tools MCP server
Let your AI run small paid jobs like repo checks, web research briefs and site checks, paying a few cents per call.
This is a small helper you add to your AI app so it can buy little services on demand: scan a public GitHub repo, research a topic on the live web, check if a site is up, and more. Each call costs a tiny amount of a digital currency called USDC, paid automatically from a wallet you set up. It is handy if you want your AI to do real work on the web without signing up for accounts or managing API keys.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to SWARM, an online shop of small paid services. When you ask for something SWARM offers, your AI calls this helper, the helper pays the small fee, and the result comes back into your chat.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like "check this GitHub repo for problems" or "write me a short brief on a topic". Your AI passes that request to this helper. The helper first asks SWARM for the price, checks it is under your spending limit, then pays in USDC from your wallet. SWARM does the work and only keeps the payment if it succeeds. The result, a scan, a brief, a report or a simple answer, comes back to you in the chat.
What you can do with it
- Scan a public GitHub repo for TODO and FIXME notes, oversized files and possible secrets
- Get a one-page research brief on a topic, with sources
- Get a longer Markdown report on a topic, with sources
- Generate UUIDs, hashes, base64 strings, passwords and timestamps
- Check if a website is up and how fast it responds
- Pull the readable text of a web page, without menus and scripts
Try asking your AI
- “Scan https://github.com/someuser/somerepo for code health issues”
- “Write me a one-page brief on the current state of solid-state batteries”
- “Is https://example.com up right now, and how fast does it respond”
- “Give me the readable text of https://example.com/some-article”
What it gives back to you
You get the result straight in your chat: a short scan summary, a brief or report in Markdown, a small utility value like a UUID or hash, or a simple status answer for a site check. Each answer also reflects the small payment that was made. If a call is above your spending limit, the helper refuses it and tells you the price instead of paying.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js 20 or newer installed on your computer
- An MCP client such as Claude Code, Cursor or Claude Desktop
- A wallet private key holding a small amount of USDC on Base (a kind of password for a digital wallet; use a dedicated wallet with only a few dollars in it)
- Optionally a spending cap in US dollars, set with SWARM_MAX_USD
Good to know
Each call spends real money from your wallet, so use a dedicated wallet with only a small amount of USDC and keep the spending cap low.
