FDA and NHTSA Risk Radar MCP server
by thehealthai
Lets your AI look up FDA device risk, 510(k) evidence, reimbursement paths, and NHTSA vehicle safety data.

This is a helper that connects your AI to live public records from the FDA and NHTSA. It is handy if you work with medical devices, regulatory paperwork, or vehicle safety and want quick answers without digging through government websites. You ask in plain words, and your AI pulls the data back into the chat.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to a hosted service called Constat, which gathers FDA and NHTSA public records. Once it is connected, your AI can look things up there for you when you ask.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about a medical device, a company, a payment pathway, or a car. Your AI sends that request to this helper, which talks to the Constat service at constat.dev. Constat searches its collection of FDA and NHTSA public records and sends back the matching facts. Your AI then shows you the result in the chat as a clear answer or list. Nothing on the FDA, CMS, or NHTSA side is changed; it only reads.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Check FDA compliance risk for a device category using its three-letter product code
- Trace a device's 510(k) predicate ancestry and see how old each predicate was
- Look up recalls, warning letters, and adverse event trends for a specific device
- Find AI and machine learning clearances by product code, applicant, or clinical data
- See reimbursement pathways for a device by K number, DEN, or CPT code
- Look up NHTSA recall campaigns and complaint stats for a car make, model, and year
- Search for devices with rising adverse event trends or recent recalls
Try asking your AI
- “What is the FDA compliance risk for product code FRN?”
- “Show me the 510(k) evidence for this AI device, with quotes and page numbers.”
- “What reimbursement pathways exist for this device's K number?”
- “Any NHTSA recalls or complaints for a 2019 Honda Civic?”
What it gives back to you
You get back structured answers: lists of recalls, warning letters, or clearances; trend summaries for adverse events; evidence fields with verbatim quotes and page numbers; predicate chains with ages; reimbursement mechanisms with dollar ranges; and NHTSA recall and complaint counts. Each result comes with a status like ok, not_found, invalid_request, or unavailable, so you know if the lookup worked. Everything appears as text in your chat, ready to read or copy.
Before you start

Good to know
This is decision support, not regulatory advice, and the data comes from public records that you should verify against the primary FDA or NHTSA source before relying on it.
