Conversation Handoff MCP server
by trust-delta
Pass your chat context from one AI conversation or project to another, without copy-pasting.

This is a small helper that lets you carry a conversation from one AI chat into another. You save the chat in one place, then load it somewhere else, so the new chat already knows what you talked about. It is handy if you use Claude Desktop and Claude Code, or jump between projects, and you are tired of re-explaining everything from scratch.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you in the window you have open. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something. This one gives your AI a shared clipboard for conversations, so it can save what you discussed and pick it up again later, in another chat or another project. You just ask in normal words, and the AI uses this helper behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You tell your AI to save the current conversation, and it writes the whole thing down, word for word, into a shared memory space. Later, in a different chat or project, you ask your AI to load that saved conversation, and it reads it back so it can continue where you left off. The saved chats live in memory, not in files on your disk, and they are shared between all the AI apps connected to the same helper. You can also list what you saved, search it by tags or text, merge several saved chats into one, or delete ones you no longer need.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Save a whole conversation so you can pick it up later
- Load a saved conversation into a new chat or project
- List all your saved conversations with short summaries
- Search saved conversations by tag, text, project, or date
- Merge several related conversations into one
- Add notes or comments to a saved conversation
- Delete one saved conversation or clear them all
What it gives back to you
When you save, your AI tells you the key and title it used, so you can find it again. When you list, you get short summaries with titles, dates, and status, not the full text, which keeps things light. When you load, the full conversation comes back into the chat, and your AI can read it and keep working. Searching gives you the matching handoffs, and merging gives you one combined conversation.
Before you start
What you need
- An MCP client such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, or Cursor
- Node.js installed on your computer (the helper runs through npx, which comes with Node.js)
Good to know
Saved conversations live in memory only, so they disappear when the shared server stops, and anyone using the same helper on your machine can see them.
