Bilibili MCP server

by XZXZZX-Ai

Let your AI read Bilibili subtitles, comments, chapters and creator pages, and search videos for you.

This is a small helper you install on your own computer so your AI can read things on Bilibili. It can pull subtitles, comments, chapters and video details, search for videos, look up creators, and walk through your own favorites folders. It is handy if you watch or research Bilibili videos and want your AI to read them with you instead of you copying text by hand.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill, here a connection to Bilibili. Once this helper is running on your machine, your AI can ask Bilibili for a video's subtitles or comments and then talk to you about them. You still ask in normal words; the helper does the technical part in the background.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like read the subtitles of this Bilibili video. The AI passes your request to this helper, which is running quietly on your computer. The helper talks to Bilibili's official site, using your own login, and fetches the subtitles, comments, chapters or video details. The AI then shows you the text in the chat, often with timestamps and links you can click to jump to that moment. If a video has no subtitles at all, you can optionally install a small local speech model so it can transcribe the audio on your machine.

What you can do with it

  • Read a video's subtitles with timestamps
  • Search inside subtitles for a word and get the exact moment
  • Fetch the most popular comments and replies on a video
  • Search Bilibili for videos by topic
  • Look up a creator and browse their videos, collections and posts
  • Walk through your own Bilibili favorites folders
  • Transcribe a video with no subtitles using a local model

Try asking your AI

  • “Read the subtitles of BV1Eb411u7Fw with timestamps, then get the top comments and replies.”
  • “Search Bilibili for videos about discrete math and list 5 candidates with title, creator, length and BVID.”
  • “Find the creator 毕导THU, show me their profile overview and latest videos.”
  • “Go through all my Bilibili favorites folders and list the video titles and IDs.”

What it gives back to you

You get back plain text in the chat: subtitle lines with timestamps and clickable Bilibili moment links, lists of videos with title, creator, length and BVID, comment threads, chapter markers, or a creator summary. When you search inside a transcript, each hit comes with the surrounding words and a link that jumps to that second of the video. If a video has no subtitles, you get a clear message instead of made-up text, unless you asked for local transcription.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js version 20 or newer on your computer
  • A Bilibili account, logged in through the setup command (scan a QR code with the Bilibili phone app, or paste cookies manually in your own terminal)
  • Your MCP client (for example the Claude desktop app) with this server added
  • Python 3.9 or newer only if you want the optional local speech-to-text model

Good to know

It reads Bilibili content using your own logged-in account, so keep your login details private and expect that heavy use may hit Bilibili's rate limits.

Install it with your AI

Add Bilibili MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Bilibili MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,609 MCP servers here for you.
