UseMyMac MCP server
Lets your AI see and control your Mac screen, mouse, keyboard, and apps from anywhere.

UseMyMac turns your Mac into a computer that your AI can actually use. You run one command on the Mac, paste a link into Claude Code or Codex, and the AI can take screenshots, click, type, and open apps on that machine. It is handy if you want your AI to do something on your Mac while you are away from it, or from another computer.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something else. This one connects your AI to your Mac, so it can look at the screen and act on it when you ask. You run the helper on the Mac, and your AI talks to it through a web link.
What this MCP server does
You start UseMyMac on your Mac with one command. It prints a web link that includes a secret token. You paste that link into your AI tool once, and from then on your AI can send requests to your Mac through that link. When you ask your AI to do something on the Mac, it uses this helper to take a screenshot, move the mouse, type, or open an app, and then tells you what it did. By default it can also use the clipboard and read the list of open windows and the accessibility tree, which is the list of buttons and fields on screen.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Take a screenshot of your Mac screen
- Move the mouse and click on things
- Type text with the keyboard
- Read and change the clipboard
- List open windows and switch between them
- Open apps on the Mac
- Read the accessibility tree to find buttons and fields
Try asking your AI
- “Take a screenshot of my Mac and tell me what is on screen”
- “Open Safari and go to my company intranet”
- “Click the Save button in the document that is open”
- “Copy the text in the Notes window and paste it into an email draft”
What it gives back to you
Your AI gets back screenshots, lists of windows and apps, the accessibility tree, and the text on your clipboard. It can also report what it clicked or typed and whether the action worked. In the chat you see a short answer, often with a screenshot or a description of what changed on screen.
Before you start
What you need
- A Mac running macOS 15 or newer
- Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions for the terminal app you use to start it
- A free Cloudflare tunnel (UseMyMac downloads cloudflared for you on first run)
- An AI tool that supports MCP over HTTP, such as Claude Code or Codex
Good to know
This puts your real desktop on a public web link, and the token in the URL is the only lock, so treat that link like a password and keep the terminal visible while an agent is connected.
