Glint Render MCP server

by zzzjy765

Let your AI take screenshots, make PDFs and pull data from any web page for you.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Screenshot this page and list the headings”, the Glint Render MCP server connects it to Glint Render, and you get back image, PDF or clean list.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to Glint Render, a service that takes pictures of web pages and turns them into files or tidy data. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI in normal words to grab a screenshot, save a page as a PDF, or pull out the text and links. It is handy for anyone who checks websites, makes reports, or collects information from pages without wanting to do it by hand.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Glint Render, a web rendering service. So when you ask for a screenshot or a page summary, your AI passes the request to this helper, and the helper talks to Glint Render and brings the result back to your chat.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like "take a screenshot of this page" or "pull the headings from this article". Your AI sends that request to this helper. The helper passes it to Glint Render, which opens the page and does the work, like taking a picture or reading the text. Glint Render sends the result back, and your AI shows it to you in the chat, as an image, a file, or a clean list of information.

What you can do with it

  • Take full-page or phone-style screenshots of any web address
  • Turn a web page or your own HTML into a print-ready PDF
  • Create a branded social card image for a blog post or link
  • Pull out the title, headings, links and images from a page as clean text or data
  • Extract specific details from a page using a plain-English instruction
  • Set up a workflow that watches a page and emails you when it changes
  • Check how many renders you have left on your account

Try asking your AI

  • “Screenshot github.com/trending and tell me which repos mention Rust”
  • “Take a dark-mode full-page capture of my landing page and check the footer renders”
  • “Extract every heading and link from this page as markdown”
  • “Make an OG image for my blog post titled Shipping fast with Redis”

What it gives back to you

Depending on what you ask, you get back an image right in the chat, a PDF file you can download, or a tidy block of text and data like titles, headings and links. For workflows, you get a summary of what ran and what each step found. You can also ask how many renders you have left and get a simple number.

Before you start

What you need

  • A free Glint Render account and API key from ottersnap.com/dashboard (a kind of password for apps; the site gives you one free, 100 renders a month)
  • Node.js installed on your computer if you run it with npx
  • An AI app that supports MCP servers, like Claude Desktop or Cursor

Good to know

Workflows can send emails and call outside services on their own, so check what a workflow does before you turn it on, and keep your API key private.
