Research Interview Question Plan Agent

Story questions answered with sourced notes, and a plan for the remaining interviews

Research Interview Question Plan Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Interviews are held without clear needs, and the results do not answer the story questions. This agent lists the open questions in the story, finds suitable experts, and drafts an interview plan with the questions for each. After each interview, it checks the notes for answered and unanswered questions, and updates the plan for the next one. It also checks facts that conflict between interviews. It stops when the open questions are answered or the interview list is done. The writer approves outreach. Edge case: an expert whose answer contradicts the script gets flagged for the writer to decide whether to change the script or the source.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

  • Pick the expert who covers the most open questions
  • Mark a question answered only with a clear source
  • Flag conflicting facts for the writer
  • Stop after all questions are answered

An example run

What happensA medical drama had 9 open questions. The first interview with an ER nurse answered 5. The check showed 4 left, including how a trauma handoff works. The agent planned the next interview with a paramedic. Two interviews disagreed about how long handoffs take, so it flagged the conflict and added a question. The writer approved the outreach.
