GoSQLX MCP server
by ajitpratap0
Lets your AI check, tidy up, and scan SQL queries for problems before you run them.

GoSQLX is a tool for working with SQL, the language used to talk to databases. This MCP server connects that tool to your AI assistant, so your AI can check a query, clean up its formatting, and point out risky parts for you. It is handy if you write or review SQL at work and want a second pair of eyes.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to GoSQLX, a SQL checking and formatting engine. Once it is connected, your AI can send your SQL to GoSQLX and bring the results back to you.
What this MCP server does
You paste a SQL query into the chat and ask your AI to look at it. Your AI passes the query to the GoSQLX helper. The helper reads the query, checks it against the rules of the database dialect you picked, and looks for mistakes or risky patterns. Then your AI shows you the answer, such as a cleaned-up version of the query, a list of problems, or a note that the query is fine.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Check whether a SQL query has syntax errors
- Reformat a messy query so it is easier to read
- Run lint checks and get a list of style or safety warnings
- Scan a query for signs of SQL injection risk
- Pull out the table and column names a query uses
- Compare a query against different database dialects like PostgreSQL or MySQL
Try asking your AI
- “Can you check this SQL query for errors? SELECT * FORM users”
- “Please tidy up this query and put the keywords in uppercase”
- “Run a lint check on this query and tell me what to fix”
- “Does this query look safe, or is there an injection risk?”
What it gives back to you
You get answers right in the chat. That might be a corrected or reformatted version of your query, a numbered list of warnings with short explanations, or a plain yes or no about whether the query is valid. If you ask for metadata, you get a list of the tables and columns the query touches.
Before you start
What you need
- An AI assistant that supports MCP, such as Claude or Cursor
- An internet connection to reach the hosted GoSQLX endpoint
Good to know
It reads the SQL you paste in, so avoid sending queries that contain real passwords, customer names, or other private data.
Install it with your AI
Add GoSQLX MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check GoSQLX MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Anyone who writes or reviews SQL at work, like analysts, data people, and developers who want a quick check before running a query.
