CloudPrice MCP server

by Albaker-Group

Compare cloud prices across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI and get plain answers about costs and savings.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Compare 6 servers on AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI”, the CloudPrice MCP server reaches AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI, and you get back cost comparison in chat.

This is a helper for your AI that knows the prices of cloud services from AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud. You ask a question in normal words, and it works out the numbers for you. It is handy for anyone who has to guess what cloud hosting costs, or who is thinking about moving from one cloud to another.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot look up today's price of a server on Amazon or Oracle. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill. This one connects your AI to a bundle of cloud price data, so when you ask about costs, the AI can look up real numbers and do the math for you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a cost question, like how much a certain server would cost on each cloud. The AI passes your question to this helper. The helper looks through its price list for AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI, and works out the monthly or yearly cost. It can also add up storage, data transfer, and database costs. Then the AI explains the answer back to you in the chat, with the dollar amounts and the tradeoffs.

What you can do with it

  • Compare the monthly price of a server across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI
  • Add up the full cost of a workload with compute, storage, and data transfer
  • Work out when a reserved instance or savings plan pays for itself
  • Compare object storage costs across hot, cool, and archive tiers
  • Check managed PostgreSQL database prices across the four clouds
  • See how much data transfer (egress) costs and where it is cheapest
  • Generate a written cost report you can share with your team

Try asking your AI

  • “I have 6 t3.2xlarge servers on AWS. Compare the 3-year cost on-demand versus a 1-year savings plan and tell me the break-even month.”
  • “I want to move 5 TB of cold storage from AWS S3 to a cheaper provider. Compare archive-tier costs across all four clouds and include the exit data transfer cost.”
  • “At 50 TB per month of internet data transfer, which cloud is cheapest and how much would I save over 3 years?”
  • “Size a 3-tier SaaS workload with 8 web servers, 12 app servers, 4 database servers, 5 TB SSD, 50 TB HDD, and 10 TB per month egress. Compare the full monthly cost across all four clouds.”

What it gives back to you

You get dollar numbers in the chat, usually as a small table or list. The AI explains which cloud is cheapest and why, and may point out things like a payback period or a warning that a move is not worth it. Some tools also produce a longer written report with a summary, a cost table, and notes about what was not included.

Before you start

What you need

  • Python 3.10 or newer installed on your computer
  • The cloudprice-mcp package installed (pip install cloudprice-mcp)
  • An AI client that supports MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot

Good to know

The prices are a curated snapshot and may not match your exact bill, so treat the numbers as estimates and check with your cloud provider for final pricing.

Install it with your AI

Add CloudPrice MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check CloudPrice MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
