SnapDiff MCP server

by corralimited

Let your AI take screenshots of web pages and spot visual changes, telling you if a change was expected or a surprise.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Did our login page change since yesterday?”, the SnapDiff MCP server connects it to SnapDiff, and you get back A clear answer in your chat.

SnapDiff is a helper that lets your AI look at web pages the way a person does. It takes screenshots, compares two pages, and tells you what changed on screen. It is handy if you work on websites or check pages after updates.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot open a web page and see it. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to SnapDiff, so it can capture and compare web pages for you when you ask.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI to check a web page or compare two pages. The AI uses this helper, which talks to SnapDiff. SnapDiff takes the screenshots and works out what changed. You get back a diff percentage, a highlighted image, or a simple verdict like pass or unexpected change.

What you can do with it

  • Take a screenshot of any web page
  • Compare two web pages and see the visual differences
  • Check if a page changed since an earlier capture
  • Verify that a UI change only affected the parts you expected
  • Turn HTML and CSS into an image for social cards or email headers

Try asking your AI

  • “Take a screenshot of our homepage and show it to me”
  • “Compare the staging and production versions of our pricing page”
  • “Did anything change on our login page since yesterday?”
  • “I changed the button color. Check if anything else on the page moved.”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat. That can be a screenshot image, a side-by-side diff with the changes highlighted, a percentage of how different the pages are, or a short verdict like pass or unexpected change. For the verification tool, you also get a suggested next step.

Before you start

What you need

  • A SnapDiff API key (a kind of password for apps; you get one free at snapdiff.ai/dashboard)
  • Node.js installed on your computer
  • An AI tool that supports MCP servers, like Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Zed, or Continue

Good to know

This server uses your SnapDiff API key, which may be tied to a paid plan, so keep an eye on usage if your plan has limits.

Install it with your AI
